Plasma Meta Data Scheme

The Plasma Metadata Schema (Plasma-MDS) is used to support the findability and reusability of datasets. A documentation of this metadata schema can be found in St. Franke et al. (2019) arXiv:1907.07744. It is intended to review Plasma-MDS after an initial phase of growing usage and to extend it further according to the requirements in the community.

Plasma-MDS aims to support the standardized documentation of research data in the field of low-temperature plasma physics and plasma medicine. In accordance with typical plasma processes and applications, the schema contains metadata fields to collect annotations about plasma source, plasma medium, and plasma target. Furthermore, metadata for the respectively applied diagnostic and modelling/simulation methods are collected. Finally, resource metadata fields are included to describe the individual digital objects belonging to the dataset.

With this, Plasma-MDS supports research data management in accordance with the FAIR data principles. So far, it is implemented in this research data repository (https://rdpcidat.rub.de) and in the research data repository hosted by the INP Greifswald INPTDAT (http://www.inptdat.de).
